Travel Insurance

Trip Only Insurance Policy 

This can be for 1 person (if the other person has an annual policy) or both:  
For example-  I have an annual policy, my husband does not.  We buy a Trip Policy for my husband for 1/2 the cost of our trip. 

We recommend a policy through https://www.aardy.com/   Why? 

• The language used in "people speak" not "underwriter speak"  so you can understand what is covered
• Live chat is available,  or you can call and talk to a real person (not AI) 
• The prices are almost 1/2 of what we found through the cruise line (see our sample quotes below)
• Quotes vary based on age of traveller(s)
• You receive multiple quotes to choose from 
• It's AARP recommended (but no where do I see where you have to be an AARP member or is this asked (if you find this somewhere- please let me know)
• Baggage insurance is included (if you luggage is lost or stolen-  it's rare but does happen) 

A few tips to look for when filling out the form requesting a quote: 

• Use "United States" for your Destination country/First Port since the cruise is out of Miami and 1 of the 3 ports is the USVI
• If you have a separate Annual Travel Policy (see below for that info and average costs) then you'll complete this for 1 traveller
• If you need for both Cruisers, you'll complete for 2 
• Round up the cost of the trip slightly to include your airfare. 
• You'll need your purchase date, if you need that please let us know.

Recommended for busy speakers who travel a LOT, or if you vacation/travel multiple times a year.   

There are only a handful of companies that offer an annual policy.   I've chosen Allianz Global Assistance for my policy:

For a $5000 (per trip coverage per person) policy, plus other coverages outlined below, an ANNUAL policy is only $485 a year for 1 traveler.  You can see when you compare to the cost for the single trip policy that having an annual policy makes sense.
